Best overnight home care agencies in London (CQC-checked, October 2026)

Key Takeaways
This is a scored list of overnight home care agencies in London, CQC-checked on 24 October 2026. Outstanding beats Good, inspections older than four years lose 15 points, a listed nursing or night specialism would add 10, and a website-checked published price or live-in offer adds 5 each. None of the nine CQC records we opened listed nursing or night, so that bonus is zero. We run Match With Care. We are not CQC-registered as a care provider, so we sit in a labelled box outside this list. Method: how we rank agencies.
If you are only here for a nightly from-price, skip to Unique Senior Care and Helping Hands. The Outstanding names above them did not print one on the pages we opened.
The NHS is plain that a paid carer can come at night, and puts help at home at about £15 to £30 an hour. Age UK (updated 18 February 2026) still points families at registered homecare agencies, or at arranging a private carer themselves, and says if savings sit above £23,250 the council will not help with care costs. Night needs are also how a lot of Attendance Allowance claims move up a band: £76.70 a week, or £114.60 if help is needed through both day and night.
Carevo ranks Outstanding first from CQC data published 1 October 2026. Half of its top ten have ratings from 2018 to 2020. This page applies a stale-inspection penalty and shows the drawbacks.
What are the best overnight home care agencies in London?
On this 24 October 2026 check we scored nine CQC-registered locations that publish overnight, night or 24-hour home care and operate in, or into, London. Walfinch Chiswick, Hammersmith & Kensington leads on published facts, at 110.
How we scored these overnight home care agencies
The CQC (updated 1 July 2025) registers people who carry on regulated activity. Homecare agencies that provide personal care have to be on that register. Introductory platforms do not, which is why Elder, Curam and Care.com UK are not in this table.
Each location starts at 100 for Outstanding, 60 for Good, or 20 for Requires improvement. An inspection older than four years loses 15. A listed nursing specialism or night service type would add 10; none of these CQC pages had either. A website-checked published hourly or weekly from-price adds 5. A website-checked live-in offer adds 5. Ties break on the more recent inspection, then the name. Full rules: agency ranking methodology. Checked 24 October 2026.
CQC does not rate overnight care as its own category. A location is here because its own site described sleeping nights, waking nights, overnight care or night shifts.
After a discharge from the Royal Free, a family in Hampstead can open Right at Home's overnight page and still not see a from-price. Unique will quote a sleeping night at £275, then say visiting overnight is a Midlands product.

Checked 24 October 2026. Scores follow how we rank agencies. Match With Care is not in this table.
1. Walfinch Chiswick, Hammersmith & Kensington · 110
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-12981347805 is Outstanding, report published 16 May 2025. Dementia is listed. Night is not. The branch home-care services page lists overnight care. The branch live-in page exists. A 24 August 2026 article publishes visiting care from £39 an hour and cites a Homecare Association 2025-26 London minimum of £38.69. Those two website facts put it above the other Outstanding locations.
Where it falls short. No sleeping-night or waking-night from-price sat on the pages we opened. Coverage is west and central London, not Greater London.
Sources: CQC, overnight listing, live-in, £39 article.
2. Bluebird Care (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea) · 105
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-2120838566 is Outstanding, report published 17 April 2026. Dementia is listed. This is the most recently inspected Outstanding location in the set. The local Westminster and City of London site lists live-in care and "overnight care so your loved one can rest without worry." The national night-care page describes a sleeping night of eight hours or more for one or two wake-ups, and a waking night of eight hours or more, and names Greater London among the regions to call.
Where it falls short. No from-price sat on the local site or the national night-care page, so the price bonus is zero. It trails Walfinch by those five points.
Sources: CQC, local site, night care.
3. Right at Home Camden, Hampstead & Golders Green · 105
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-12675622003 is Outstanding, report published 8 November 2024. Dementia is listed. The overnight page is a dedicated sleeping-night and waking-night service for Camden, Hampstead and Golders Green. It restates the Outstanding rating and names the Royal Free among the hospitals it covers after discharge. The local site lists live-in care and 24-hour care.
Where it falls short. The overnight FAQ says costs depend on the level and duration of care. No from-price, so it ties Bluebird on 105 and loses the tie-break on inspection date.
Sources: CQC, overnight care, local site.
4. Unique Senior Care · 95
Why it ranks here. Unique Care, for this list, is Unique Senior Care. CQC location 1-7601685405 in Knowle, Solihull, is Outstanding, report published 27 August 2021. Dementia is listed. The overnight explainer (updated 8 July 2026) publishes a sleeping night at £275 for 10pm to 7am, waking nights at £44 an hour on weekdays and £47 at weekends, and live-in from £1,855 a week, from 1 April 2026. Seven sleeping nights come to £1,925, which the same page puts above the live-in starting rate.
Where it falls short. The inspection is more than four years old, so it loses 15 points. The older overnight page (updated 29 September 2026) says visiting overnight is Warwickshire and the West Midlands, "not available nationwide." London is live-in.
Sources: CQC, overnight explainer, overnight assistance.
5. The Good Care Group · 95
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-1489174477 at Portsoken House, Minories, is Outstanding, report published 12 April 2019. Dementia is listed. The overnight page describes sleeping nights (up to twice a night) and waking nights, and says a dedicated overnight carer visits for waking care then goes home in the morning. The same page publishes live-in from £256 a day. The costs page repeats that figure and publishes hourly care from £40.
Where it falls short. The inspection is more than four years old. CQC last reviewed the information on 6 July 2023 and did not reassess. Unique's 2021 report is newer, so Unique takes the 95 tie. No stand-alone nightly from-price sat next to the live-in day rate.

6. Helping Hands Kensington & Chelsea · 70
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-4525796531 at 151 Freston Road, W10, is Good, report published 6 January 2025. Dementia is listed. The overnight cost page (reviewed 18 March 2026) publishes overnight care from £255 per person per night for about ten hours. The London live-in page publishes live-in from £1,675 a week for one person, or £2,125 for a couple, and mentions an overnight carer among the options.
Where it falls short. The London live-in page still says "we do not have a physical branch in London" even though CQC registers this Kensington & Chelsea location. The overnight page does not split sleeping nights from waking nights.

7. Home Instead Kensington & Chelsea · 65
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-452823580 at 286 Old Brompton Road is Good, report published 16 January 2026. Dementia is listed. The London overnight page describes sleep-in and waking night care and lists Kensington and Chelsea among the local offices. The local site names a live-in care coordinator and "round-the-clock help."
Where it falls short. No from-price on the pages we opened. This score is this franchise, not every London office.

8. Consultus Care and Nursing · 55
Why it ranks here. CQC location 1-120788654 in Tonbridge is Good, report published 20 February 2019. Dementia is listed. Nursing is in the trading name; it is not a listed CQC specialism on the page we opened, so the overnight specialism bonus is zero. The overnight page describes waking nights from about 9-10pm to 7am and sleeping nights with up to two get-ups. The costs page publishes CQC-regulated managed live-in from £1,603 a week. Introductory live-in from £1,092 is a different, non-CQC product; we scored the managed service.
Where it falls short. The inspection is more than four years old. CQC last reviewed the information on 6 July 2023 and did not reassess. No nightly from-price sat next to the weekly live-in figures.

9. Cera (Care Quality Services London) · 50
Why it ranks here. Cera's inner London registration that we opened is Care Quality Services London at Kings House, Hammersmith Road: Good, report published 29 May 2021. Dementia is listed. The London CQS branch page is a Hammersmith office. The complex-care page says care teams work days and nights, seven days a week, with short visits, block hours and live-in. The live-in page restates live-in nationally.
Where it falls short. The inspection is more than four years old. CQC last reviewed the information on 6 July 2023 and did not reassess. We did not open a family overnight service page with a from-price. A later Cera location, Essex and Havering, is Good with a report published 12 July 2024. That is Havering and Essex, not this Hammersmith registration.

Best-for picks from the same scores
- Highest score in this overnight set: Walfinch Chiswick, Hammersmith & Kensington, 110, because it also published an hourly from-price.
- Most recently inspected Outstanding: Bluebird Care (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea), report published 17 April 2026.
- Lowest website-checked published hourly from-price: Walfinch, from £39 an hour. Unique's waking-night rate is £44 an hour on weekdays. The Good Care Group publishes hourly care from £40.
- Published per-night from-price: Helping Hands, from £255 a night. Unique publishes £275 for a sleeping night, then says visiting overnight is not a London product.
The NHS homecare page still prints £15 to £30 an hour. Helping Hands overnight starts at £255 for about ten hours. That is a different product to a daytime visit, and it is not the NHS band.
If you want an introductory platform instead of a CQC-inspected agency, that is a different list: best overnight care platforms in the UK. Related: overnight care at home, sleeping vs waking nights.
Match With Care. Our service. Not CQC-registered, different model. Best for choosing and paying your carer directly. We introduce self-employed carers, including sleeping and waking nights; you pick the person and you direct day-to-day care. See home care platforms.
Unique's own overnight page puts seven sleeping nights at £1,925 and live-in from £1,855. That is the comparison that actually sits in the booking, once you have counted how often anyone gets up.
We run Match With Care as an introductory care marketplace, not a CQC-registered agency. If you want us to introduce a vetted self-employed carer for sleeping or waking nights, see who is available. We will tell you the 15% fee before you choose.
Frequently asked
questions
On our 24 October 2026 check of nine CQC-registered locations, Walfinch Chiswick, Hammersmith & Kensington led on 110, then Bluebird Care (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea) and Right at Home Camden, Hampstead & Golders Green on 105. Rank is a score from the published method, not a recommendation to switch, and not an unqualified best-in-the-UK claim.
Yes. This list only scores CQC-registered homecare locations with a published Outstanding, Good or Requires improvement rating. Introductory platforms such as Elder, Curam and Match With Care are a different model and sit outside this table.
No. We run Match With Care. We are an introductory care marketplace, not CQC-registered as a care provider, so we are not scored in this agency list. The labelled box below the ranking explains the different model and links to home care platforms.
Website-checked from-prices on 24 October 2026 included Helping Hands overnight care from £255 a night, Unique Senior Care sleeping nights at £275 (visiting overnight is Midlands, not London) and waking nights at £44 an hour on weekdays, and The Good Care Group live-in from £256 a day. Bluebird Care, Right at Home, Home Instead Kensington & Chelsea and Cera's London CQS location did not publish a family overnight from-price on the pages we opened.
On a sleeping night the carer rests in a spare room and gets up if needed, usually once or twice. On a waking night they stay up for the whole shift. Right at Home Camden, Bluebird Care, Home Instead, Helping Hands, Unique Senior Care, The Good Care Group and Consultus all describe both kinds on pages we opened. Ask your relative's GP or nurse about clinical needs; we do not give medical advice.
