Help getting Attendance Allowance
A short conversation to see if you qualify, then we take care of the claim paperwork.
Extra money for daily life
Attendance Allowance is for people over State Pension age who need help because of a physical or mental health condition. It is tax-free and not means-tested. You can spend it on care, transport, heating, or whatever helps most.
The weekly rates are £76.70 or £114.60, set by how much help is needed through the day or night. Current rates on GOV.UK.
Available in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. In Scotland the equivalent is Pension Age Disability Payment. Norla is not part of the DWP.
You might be eligible if you
- Over State Pension age
- Living in England, Wales, or Northern Ireland, and in the UK for two of the last three years
- Not already on Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment
- Difficulty with daily life at home, such as washing, dressing, moving around, or needing someone nearby
You do not need to already have a carer, or be paying for care, to claim.
How Norla by Match with Care helps
- 1
A short conversation
We talk through age, where you live, and what daily life is actually like, including the hard days.
- 2
We check if a claim is worth making
Savings, a missing diagnosis, or not having a carer yet do not rule someone out. We say so plainly if it does not look eligible.
- 3
We handle the paperwork
If you want to go ahead, we help complete the form, gather evidence, and submit it. If the claim is refused, we help with the appeal.
If care at home is the next step
Attendance Allowance can make home care easier to afford. When you want a carer, Match with Care introduces people who have been vetted for the kind of help you need. That conversation can wait until the claim is underway.

No. You do not need to be receiving care, or paying for it, to claim. The form is about the difficulty you have with daily life, not who currently helps.

Yes, if you want that next. Norla is part of Match with Care. Once funding is clearer, we can introduce vetted home carers. Finding care is optional and separate from the eligibility check.
