Part-time live-out dementia carer in Hackney, London

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable female carer to provide visiting care for the client, an elderly lady living at home in Hackney, London. This is a part-time, live-out role offering approximately 15 hours per week, with care needed within the next month.

The client is living with dementia and requires consistent, gentle support with her daily routine. The role centres on helping her maintain dignity, comfort, and a degree of independence in her own home.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting the client to get up in the morning and helping her get ready for the day
• Supporting with personal care, including light washing and dressing
• Encouraging and assisting with gentle mobility and short walks to help maintain physical wellbeing
• Preparing and serving lunch
• Reminding and prompting the client to take her lunchtime medication
• Providing warm, patient companionship and reassurance throughout each visit

The ideal candidate will:

• Be an experienced female carer with a caring, patient, and encouraging manner
• Have a solid understanding of dementia and how it affects daily life, communication, and behaviour
• Be confident in providing personal care sensitively and respectfully
• Be skilled at gently motivating and encouraging someone who may need extra support to stay active
• Be dependable and committed to a regular visiting schedule
• Be comfortable working independently in the client's home

This is a self-funded position. The family is looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship with the client and become a familiar, reassuring presence in her daily routine. A calm, positive approach and genuine empathy for those living with dementia are essential.
