Part-time live-out companion in Clapham

We are looking for a friendly, reliable companion to support the client in the Clapham (SW4) area on a visiting basis, starting within the next week.

About the Client: The client is a stroke survivor who lives with cortical blindness and ataxia. They use a walking frame for mobility or a wheelchair when out and about. They are a sociable person who enjoys getting out of the house, whether that's a trip to the shops, a visit to the pub for a drink or a meal, or simply having good company at home. This is a companionship-focused role — personal care is not required.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Providing warm, engaging companionship during visits
• Accompanying the client on outings such as shopping trips and meals out
• Assisting with wheelchair use when needed during outings
• Offering general support and encouragement to help the client stay active and socially connected

Schedule:

• Approximately 10 hours per week
• Daily visits from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Wednesday and at weekends (Thursdays and Fridays are not required)
• The schedule may be subject to minor adjustments over time

What We're Looking For:

• A genuinely caring, personable individual who enjoys spending time with others
• Someone comfortable supporting a client with visual impairment and mobility challenges
• Experience with wheelchair assistance and guiding individuals with visual impairments is desirable
• A patient, upbeat personality — the client values good conversation and companionship
• Punctuality and reliability are essential

This is a self-funded position. No personal care duties are involved, making it ideal for someone who is passionate about providing companionship and helping a client maintain an active, enjoyable lifestyle.
